Job Responsibilities

  • Run regular checks on network and data security.
  • Monitor daily operations, including hardware, software and operating systems.
  • Develop and implement IT policy and best practice guides for the organisation.
  • Conduct regular system audits, Run and share regular operation system reports with senior staff.
  • Oversee and determine timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages.
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures.
  • Set up accounts and workstations on-site and remote locations.
  • Periodic updates of windows and network security updates, Anti-virus updates etc.
  • Ensuring a safe and secure working environment, taking the necessary measures to keep the networks/workstations free from viruses.
  • Day to day hardware and software troubleshooting, including any necessary hardware servicing as and when required.
  • Setup and installation of software on end-user systems.
  • Ensuring individual user's data is kept secure and confidential.
  • Knowledge of ISO 27001 Standard.
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems, according to the requirements.
  • Creation and maintenance of IT-related documentation for all systems.
  • Creating and improving IT processes to provide more efficiently, enhanced, but consistent services to the business.
  • VMWare virtualized environments.
  • A mixed Linux and Windows server environment.
  • Network infrastructure (both on-site and inter-site - e.g. VPN, Firewall and Routers).
  • Backups and disaster recovery.
  • Monitoring and Alerting.
  • Next-Gen Firewall Implementation and configuration.
  • Routing and Switching.
  • VOIP systems (will be a plus).
  • Data Encryption techniques.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven working experience as an IT Specialist or relevant experience.
  • High level of hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and computer hardware/software systems.
  • Expertise in data and systems governance.
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Domains, Active Directory, and Group Policies.
  • Hands-on experience with VPNs, Intranets, and WAN, Office 365 Administration.
  • Ability to manage personnel and work independently.
  • Strong Linux working experience.
  • Technical skills to support mixed Linux and Windows, VMWare and networking.
  • Good team player attitude and necessary inter-personnel skills to provide good internal customer service.
